How to Build the Metal Ceiling For A Steel Construction Building?

Steel construction building is a new type of construction widely used for many different purposes like warehouses, residential houses, workshops, carports, etc. Compared to traditional concrete and brick buildings, steel construction buildings are more solid, durable, and less expensive. System of Steel Construction Ceiling

The roof system includes roof trusses, supports, purlins, etc. The manufacturing method is represented by roof truss production. In order to ensure the processing quality and meet the project's actual situation, various components of the roof truss must be produced and processed in a professional steel structure factory. Every steel beam should be made in two sections and assembled on-site before installation. The assembling method should be ridge-node assembling. When the assembling is finished and inspected, start the hoisting and installation.

Lofting

Go over the drawing strictly and then start the lofting according to the construction drawings and standards requirements. During the marking, the assembly marks, screw hole marks, the position and direction of the reinforcement plate, the inclination mark, the centerline, the reference line and the inspection line should be clearly marked. If necessary, make a sample first.  

The welding shrinkage allowance should be based on 2mm during the installation. Then the cutting, planning, and milling allowance should also meet the requirements of installation reserved size. Before scribing, correct the bending and deformation of the steel materials.

Blanking

During the construction of the steel structure ceiling, the steel sections are cut according to the template and the material list to save materials as much as possible, making the steel easy to cut. Gas cutting is used for the steel blanking, and cutting is used for sections to ensure the quality of the cut surface. The rust and dirt on the surface of the steel cutting area should be removed before cutting. After cutting, slag and splashes are supposed to come out. The welding shrinkage, cutting, end face, and edge processing allowance should be reserved during the marking-off.

Edge Processing

Flame processing is used for welding the X-shaped V-shaped joint. Then use a grinding wheel to smooth it after processing, and its surface roughness is checked by precision cutting. The error of bevel and size should meet the requirements of national standards and regulations. The end face of the steel components should only be processed after they are corrected. The processing surface must be perpendicular to the centerline.

Assembly

Before assembling the steel structure ceiling, all steel components should be inspected. The connection surface and the range of 30-50mm along the welding edge should be cleaned up. The plates should be assembled after splicing the sections. The assembly of other accessories should start after the welding of each steel component.

Welding

Before welding, the welder should be familiar with the construction drawings and must have a welder's operation certificate. The quality of the weldment joints and the welder's handling should be repeatedly checked. During welding, the welder should follow the welding process and not work by himself or strike the arc on the second base metal on the weld bead. Each pass should be welded continuously, the welding slag should be cleaned up in time after each layer of welding, and the welding quality should be checked when all process is finished.
